Learn about BHG's Editorial Process Published on September 26, 2023 05:00PM EDT Photo: Amazon Amazon announced its having another Prime Day sale event this fall on October 10 and 11. As a home shopping editor, I strap my nine to five with searching and testing for the best products to keep your home feeling comfortable, functional, and beautiful—and for the best prices of course. While scouring through early Amazon Prime Big Deal Days sales, I noticed that many of my all-time favorite Amazon purchases are all heavily discounted right now. You’ll also find discounts on big-ticket items like iRobot Roomba vacuums, Lodge Dutch ovens, and Casper pillows that are predicted to sell out once October 10 arrives. iRobot Roomba 692 Robot Vacuum Amazon Buy on Amazon $300 $189 I bought the iRobot Roomba 692 during Amazon’s last Prime Day event, and I’m upset I didn’t buy it sooner. It picks up dog hair in a flash and navigates around furniture pretty well. While it doesn’t feature row-by-row cleaning, the vacuum runs for 90 minutes, effectively cleaning every inch of my apartment. I love that I can monitor its cleaning schedule through my phone and return home to fully clean floors. Mrs. Meyer’s Liquid Dish Soap Amazon Buy on Amazon $15 $13 Mrs. Meyer’s is my favorite brand to use for hand soap, all-purpose cleaner, and of course, dish soap. It cuts through grease and stuck-on food with ease and leaves a fresh scent behind. Basil and lemon verbena are my favorite dish soap scents, so I’m stocking up while they’re on sale. AeroGarden Harvest Indoor Garden Hydroponic System Amazon Buy on Amazon $90 $80 I received an AeroGarden as a sample from the brand last month, and have since had incredible growth from parsley, dill, and chives in mere weeks. In fact, they were sprouting just days after adding them to the garden. The hydroponic system requires just plant food and water, because it provides artificial light. It couldn’t be easier, and I love its affordability since it grows six plants at once. Casper Sleep Down Pillow Amazon Buy on Amazon $139 $97 I bought Casper’s down pillow two years ago, and it still serves as my favorite. It’s made from duck down to provide low-loft support while being oh-soft soft and huggable. It’s breathable with a 2-inch gusset for proper neck alignment, and it’s even machine washable. Terro Ready-to-Use Indoor Fruit Fly Traps Amazon Buy on Amazon $16 $14 I had a fruit fly infiltration last week, and these traps took care of the problem almost immediately. The apple-shaped traps have built-in windows to lure in flies, while the included liquid formula kills them upon entry. You can get a four-pack for $14, so you can place traps by your pantry, trash can, bathroom, and patio. Lodge 6-Quart Enameled Dutch Oven Amazon Buy on Amazon $133 $80 I’ve been itching to get my Lodge Dutch oven out in honor of soup season’s return. I bought it three years ago, and I use it nearly every day come fall and winter. It’s made from enameled cast iron that heats up quickly and evenly, and can withstand years of use on the stove and in the oven. Forlivese Three-Pack Drain Clog Remover Amazon Buy on Amazon $10 $6 My shower drain clogs frequently, so when I bought this three-pack of drain clog removers two months ago, it completely made the maintenance hassle-free. It’s arguably the grossest chore, but this clever tool makes grabbing gunk and hair so easy. It reaches deep into pipes without fear of getting stuck thanks to the bendy, barbed band and loop handle. Max Houser Five Shelf Hanging Closet Organizer Amazon Buy on Amazon $17 $13 I bought this hanging closet organizer to maximize my closet, and it holds a surprising amount of T-shirts, leggings, sports bras, and sweaters. It comes with five shelves and four side pockets that I use to hold my swimsuits, belts, fanny pack, and silk scarves. The sturdy hooks keep the organizer in place, and I haven’t noticed any wear or tear after months of use. KitchenAid Classic Fruit Slicer Amazon Buy on Amazon $15 $6 I’m not one to use single-purpose kitchen tools, with one exception: Apple slicers. I love to snack on an in-season apple with peanut butter, and this easy tool makes quick work of slicing and coring apples. The stainless steel blades cut an apple into eight wedges in one movement, and I just pop it into the dishwasher when I’m done. Andily Space Heater Amazon Buy on Amazon $27 $20 It’s almost time to get the space heaters out, and I’m so glad I purchased this portable heater two years ago. Don’t be fooled by its small size; this little appliance heats up an entire room in minutes. It has three fan settings (high, low, and fan-only) and an adjustable dial to achieve your ideal temperature. It also comes with a carrying handle and automatically shuts off when tipped over.
