The texture can become grainy and the flavors can change during the freezing and thawing process. It's best eaten the same week it's made. How to Make a Ham Salad Sandwich This recipe for ham salad will make four sandwiches. Mix up the ham salad and let it chill in the fridge for at least 2-4 hours. Once chilled, spread the salad over bread and top with your favorite sandwich toppings like lettuce, tomato, and onion.
